Dollars & Numbers Expose Obama’s Real-Life Practice of Sexist Inequity

A shocking and revelatory op-ed in today’s Seattle Post-Intelligencer exposes that, despite his claims for “equal pay for an equal day’s work,” Barack Obama pays the women in his own U.S. Senate office:

* “83 cents for every dollar the men make”

In stark contrast, John McCain pays the women in his U.S. Senate office:

* “$1.04 for every dollar a man makes”



There’s more proof of Obama’s unequal treatment of women, despite his lofty rhetoric to the contrary: “Among Obama’s five best-paid advisors, only one was a woman. Among his top 20, seven were women.”

The op-ed’s title sums up the one of Obama’s more egregious faults — the vast chasm between what Obama says and what Obama does: “Obama only talks good game on gender pay equity.”

I am repeatedly astonished by the number of otherwise intelligent and educated people I know, particularly women, who BELIEVE that Obama means what he says. (Didn’t their mothers teach them that “talk is cheap”?) Never once do my besotted ‘bot friends offer up any proof that he follows through on his talk. In contrast, John McCain quietly DELIVERS equity to the women he hires.
