Though I'm boycotting this disgusting display of christ knows WHAT it is that's going on in Denver 'ceptin' knowing for certain that the concentration camps littering the city are functioning quite well as so are the police, in fine form, (assuming Blackwater folk aren't included among them..wouldn't want to not give credit where it's due of course), beat the living crap out of folks, some donned in pink, attempting courageously to exercise their former First Amendment rights, I still can't miss clips of it here or there that continue to do nothing except initiate my gag reflex.
America. Hello-o. It's ALL a sham. ALL OF IT. What is it you don't get about that now after all we've been through? Do you not want to puke as do I when I read about She Who Must Be Impeached Pelosi announcing the One Hundred plan? How 'bout our wonderful boxer, no, not you, Barbara, Harry Reid, the lily-livered coward aka Senate Majority Leader making claims he has no business entertaining even in is OWN delusional state? And there's more, oh, so much more.
If this week, a l o n e, has not convinced you that our Constitution, our party, our democracy, our entire understanding of what we thought we were living in the United Incorporated States of America, then, oh, have I got a bridge to sell you. In fact, I've got millions of bridges to sell you. And, pardon the pun, but they all do lead to nowhere. Well, maybe not nowhere, but at least to a place that I really don't think this country has any GRASP on what that place might be. Get. A. Grip. Americans.
And you, too, Kucinich. Nice of you to send out that "wake-up" call with which I certainly agree...but, Man of Peace, maybe YOU needed a little No-Doze because I didn't happen to read anywhere of what you did to stop the violence in the streets right down the road, happening right under the eyes of all those wonderful, hopeful, full of change Democratic leaders among whom not one, NOT ONE, has addressed what's going on right under your pinocchio noses.
Tell me, fellow Americans, do you see it? Not yet? You still believe that what you think is happening, the beginning of the process to elect a new president, is real? Because if you do, I will HAPPILY, WILLINGLY and DELIGHTFULLY accept the term crazy. I'd RATHER be crazy than believe in your reality. And nothing you are seeing is real.
Anyway, I had NO intention of writing - at all. I am so profoundly disgusted that words barely come to mind these days as I continue to mourn what most don't even realize they've already lost. My intention was simply this.
Last week, we DID suffer a loss. A terribly profound one that got little attention as I was waiting for this convention to be over almost as badly as I wanted Tim Russert's rock star funeral gala to be finished. And the sad reality is that while his passing did deserve mention, it is the death of Stephanie Tubbs-Jones that is the deepest loss we absorbed. So as I thought of her yet again today, wondering what I could possibly say by way of tribute to this larger than life leader, who had the courage to stand and object when her colleagues tried to sweep election fraud under the rug (again) during the ratification of the election before Corporate Congress in 2004, I decided that I couldn't do better than this...here are Senator Clinton's remarks on this Lady, this Patriot, this Leader, this Woman of true strength and courage who graced the halls of the once meaningful, United States House of Representatives.
There is no peace here, Stephanie, nor will there ever be so long as we continue to operate under the fog of ignorance. For me, I will not rest. But you, Great Lady, rest in peace. I am beginning to think those are the only words and act of meaning.
Oh. One more thing. Does anyone happen to know whether or not there's a war going on?
Yesterday, we lost a colleague, a friend, an inspiration, and a champion for all of us. I am deeply saddened by the death of Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. She was my friend and my sister. She made me laugh, smile and fired up my spirit when I needed it most.
She had a light that shone for the world to see within her and a fighting spirit safely stowed behind her disarming smile. Stephanie had so much integrity and a fiery intelligence that enabled her to become a one-woman force for progress in our country.
Stephanie was a tireless worker, giving a voice to the voiceless and always combating injustice. Stephanie spent much of her life fighting for all Americans and to ensure that everyone had the most precious right - the right to vote.
All of us who were lucky enough to know her and love her can only strive to be as much like her as we can -- to be as passionate, as loyal, as hard-charging, and as joyful every single day.
Stephanie was one of a kind, and we will miss our friend forever.
My family's deepest condolences are with Stephanie's son, Mervyn, her family, and her many loved ones, friends, supporters, and her beloved Ohioans. It is during this tough time that we look back and remember all the memories and blessings that Stephanie brought into our lives. If you have a thought, a story, a prayer, or condolences you would like to share, you can visit our website today so we can rejoice together in the friendship and love that we have for Stephanie. All the notes and memories we gather will be sent to her family on behalf of our extended family.
Send in your thoughts and memories about Stephanie.

Let me give this to you straight just so we're clear and there's no confusion here.
I am not a Republican.
Never have been; never will be.
I am a registered Democrat. But because "Hope" tries to spring eternal in my heart, and I want to believe that real Democrats can take back our party from hysterical, vicious, brain dead, Far Left Freakoids, from Dean on down to the typical, lobamatized sychophants who worship a golden calf at the feet of swine, let me give you a bit of advice.
Even if, as I indulge the luxury of an assumption, you detest the Clintons, the best thing you folks can do is to reach out to her with respect - you know what that is, right? Yes, reach out to her and her supporters. Your new ad was a good start. Continue along those lines and here's why.
Clinton, though the Obama clones would prefer we all forget, received 18 million + votes before she put her campaign on hold. Recent polls indicate that Obama has failed to win those supporters over yet, even as he begins his final steps toward the sermon on his mount. By more than 50%.
That's a nice chunk of change, huh?
I can tell you unequivocally that these folks in the Democratic Party, who are sickened by merely thinking of all that led to the anointing of "The One," will NEVER drink the Kool-Aide, will NEVER come to "him" once "he speaks to them" and will NEVER hand over their brains for someone to fill with lies, propaganda and mass hypnosis. This "wing" of the Democratic Party refuses to allow others to think for us; refuses to put party over principle and refuses to accept the legitimacy of "The One" and that's without even raising the issues of the filthiest Democratic primary tactics I've ever witnessed.
These same folks can and will vote Republican in November. Not because they've had a sudden change of ideology, but because their consciences will not allow them to support the dastardly deeds of Dean and DLC thugs without ramifications. They may not like McCain but their rage at what's been done to their party is such that a message and a lesson is demanded here.
So long as McCain can knock off the war talk, maverick himself a little liberal lingo, stop making gaffes as he did last week w/the house issue (but did you notice that Obama can't count either? McCain simply didn't know how many houses he has; Obama thinks we have 57 states), learn and support the issues that will appeal to disenfranchised Dems, your guy's in.
Now come on here - surely I don't have to tell you how to run a campaign - but get the damn lists from the local registrar offices - send mail to them - call them.
Trust me. They CAN be won over. Most already are. But let's see you nail it, huh? Maybe for once, some Dems and Repubs can do some serious, important work together and make sure that this unvetted, inexperienced, empty policied for-sale to the highest bidder candidate does not get behind the wheel and drive. We've already had 8 years of that. As to Biden? A whole other story but one that clearly needs to be told by you folks.
One last thing. I don't fill my blog with massive links to other blogs though I endorse that highly. I simply choose what I see as the best in terms of truth-telling so, it is critical that you check in daily with the links to the right of what you're now reading. After 8 years of reading everything I could lay my eyes upon, these people are the best of the BEST. Read them. Several times a day - I'm only one person - they have massive amounts of material coming in by the hour even. Just read them.
Now get busy.
We'll help you.

DON'T EVEN TURN IT ON!!!
It's a double whack to the lying cable media, their sponsors and to the good folks who have hijacked the Democratic Party.
I don't know what else to say. Just do it!
Senator McCain? Choose Hillary. Biden advised Kerry to take YOU as a running mate in 2004. Show that courage you say you have.
Oh, must be his "foreign policy" credentials, I get it. LOL..why don't you all go take a good look at his voting record, that, I will NOT do for you...as always, that is YOUR job and see just where Biden fits into the concept of "change." I actually can't believe I have to waste my time pointing this out to you sheep but I can hear your bahs from here.
"Dreams of My Father" - oh, what a ripe picking for those who might be interesting in analyzing Obama's search for Dad. Biden, at 65, works, huh? Freud might even rise from the grave to have some fun with this one.
Maybe I'll be in a better mood when I return from vacation.

What I'm FAR more interested in, as I've addressed several times, many blogs ago, is how YOU came by YOUR millionaire home...uh, uh, uh, wasn't Tony Rezko convicted???
Here ya go, Bots - and alllll I had to do was copy and paste the first page of Google for you.
Nice try, Obama. Psst...the American people are much more worried about losing their ONE home, ok? Bottom line? Neither of you get it or are "in touch."
Please. Give us more credit than your attack ad writers do. And ya, you STILL make me sick.
Good thing I'm still on vacation. I'd need another every time I turn on the news.

Here's a beauty for the Bots, NOT that they even have the focus to read these days. That's what happens when you're "blinded by the light" strong enough to burn out brain cells too.
Once again, I get to say...Obama makes me SICK!

Barack Obama’s Global Tax Proposal
AIM Report | By Jonathon Moseley | August 14, 2008
If the contents of legislation could be judged by the title dreamed up by spinmeisters, anything named “Global Poverty Act” would involve noble goals of alleviating poverty.
Barack Obama’s $65 billion-a-year “Global Tax” proposal is creating a firestorm on the Internet, sparked by articles by Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media in February. In response, left-wing supporters of Barack Obama are feverishly striving to defuse the controversy, attempting to discredit, dismiss, or diminish the story first revealed by AIM’s Kincaid.
In what may be his only achievement in national politics, Senator Obama introduced S. 2433, the “Global Poverty Act,” in 2007. Then, Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) rammed Obama’s “Global Poverty Act” through his committee as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee—without any hearings. S. 2433 is expected to reach the full Senate floor for debate any day. A similar bill already passed the U.S. House of Representatives, making final passage a dangerous possibility. The pressure on President Bush to sign it would be intense, especially from Obama’s supporters in the media.
If the contents of legislation could be judged by the title dreamed up by spinmeisters, anything named “Global Poverty Act” would involve noble goals of alleviating poverty. However, we were taught from childhood not to judge a book by its cover. We must also not judge legislation by its title.
The Hidden Agenda
Obama’s Global Poverty Act is in fact a stunning and sweeping step toward socialism and one-world government. When we look beyond the seductive title, and read the actual contents, we discover that Obama and Biden are setting America up for imposition of a global tax, controlled by the United Nations. For the first time, the U.S. could be forced to adopt a global tax at the behest of an international body. The planned amount is 0.7% of America’s Gross National Product (GNP) or $65 billion per year, in addition to America’s current foreign aid budget.
Obama’s legislative record in this regard is so damaging that the left-wing blogosphere has gone into over-drive to muddy the waters. The left-wing “Media Matters” has gone on the attack, and others have taken up the chorus. When Senator Biden’s opponent for election, Christine O’Donnell, revealed Biden’s promotion of Obama’s Global Tax on Fox News, Media Matters attacked within minutes.
Rather than addressing the substance of Kincaid’s revelations, Obama’s defenders invent a straw man to knock down instead. Media Matters argues that S. 2433 does not directly impose any tax. But Kincaid never said that it did. As Kincaid revealed, S. 2433 is clearly intended to engineer, or lay the groundwork for, a global tax. Kincaid never suggested it would happen in a single step. Yet S. 2433 can have no other long-range purpose.
As Kincaid explained, the bill does not attach a dollar figure—and does not need to—because that is contained in the 2002 so-called “Monterrey Consensus,” which grew out of the 2000 Millennium Declaration, which is cited in the bill. Understanding this critical fact is a simple matter of reading the appropriate U.N. documents. The sponsors could count on the major media not to do so.
The Millennium Declaration, which was issued in 2000, specifically called for a “Financing for Development” conference, which was held in 2002 in Monterrey, Mexico, and produced the “Monterrey Consensus.” This document committed nations to spending 0.7 percent of Gross National Product (GNP) on official development assistance (ODA), otherwise known as foreign aid. It says, specifically, that “We recognize that a substantial increase in ODA and other resources will be required if developing countries are to achieve the internationally agreed upon development goals and objectives, including those contained in the Millennium Declaration.” It goes on to call for “concrete efforts towards the target of 0.7 percent” of GNP as ODA and proposes “innovative sources of finance” to pay for the increased foreign aid, a reference to global taxes.
The Price Tag
Jeffrey Sachs, who ran the U.N.’s “Millennium Project,” which monitors compliance with and progress toward these goals, says that the U.N. plan to force the U.S. to pay 0.7 percent of GNP in increased foreign-aid spending would add $65 billion a year to what the U.S. already spends. “We are short by $65 billion each year, which may seem like a vast sum, but it represents just 0.5% of our GNP,” says Sachs.
As Kincaid, using Sachs’s figures, calculates it, over a 13-year period, from 2002, when the U.N.’s Financing for Development conference was held, to the target year of 2015, when the U.S. is expected to meet the Millennium Development Goals, this amounts to $845 billion. And the only way to raise that kind of money, Sachs himself wrote, is through a global tax, preferably on carbon-emitting fossil fuels.
Obama claims that S. 2433 merely declares U.S. policy to fight poverty. But if that were true, then S. 2433 does nothing at all. The U.S. has already been fighting poverty around the world for many decades. Starting with the Marshall Plan after World War II, and accelerated by John F. Kennedy’s idealism, Americans have spent gigantic fortunes on ending poverty globally, for at least 60 years. Does Obama really not know what the U.S. has already been doing for decades on the world stage? Why would Obama propose what the U.S.A. has already been doing without him?
S. 2433 is clearly setting the stage for a global tax, by backing the U.S. into a corner. Once the U.S. commits through international diplomacy to the goal of contributing 0.7% of its GNP and the Congress enforces this goal through Obama’s legislation, the U.S is on the road to accepting the global tax to pay for it.
This is the critical point: S. 2433 mandates that the president actually implement these goals and not merely discuss them. A future president— possibly a liberal like Obama himself— would be obligated to actually “make it happen.” Obama’s bill does not just declare policy. It mandates actual implementation of the $65 billion-a-year “contribution” to foreign aid by the next president. If the U.S. has already agreed to this through Congress, the final step in international negotiations over implementation of a global tax will become difficult, if not impossible, to resist.
Disputes about the real meaning of Obama’s legislation might have been avoided if Joe Biden hadn’t slipped the bill through without any hearings. If the goal were innocent, Obama and Biden would have wanted maximum publicity—even campaign “photo ops.” Instead, they quietly slid the bill through unnoticed, in a hurry. Why?
Of course, the United States is already the most generous nation on Earth. S. 2433 is not needed to declare U.S. foreign policy to fight poverty. Helping poor countries is why the U.S. government priced U.S. manufacturers and exports out of the market with a strong dollar policy and encouraged imports of products from poor nations.
Unfortunately, projects to develop Latin America, for example, turned out to be like plowing the sea. The cause of poverty was not lack of U.S. funding, but their socialist governments and unjust legal systems. We must export the real causes of our success, not just send money. Certainly, the United Nations will be part of the problem in this, not part of the solution. But Obama seems to trust the United Nations.
OBAMA PLAYS REAGAN ON WORLD STAGE
An interesting contribution to Barack Obama’s campaign shows up in the records of the Federal Election Commission. Casey Kauffman of Al-Jazeera, who lists his occupation as a journalist in Doha, gave the Democratic candidate $500 in February.
Al-Jazeera, which most U.S.-based cable and satellite providers have rejected for airing because of its terrorist links and anti-American programming, probably won’t be playing much of a role in the American presidential campaign. But the contribution is indicative of the bias that infects the media here and around the world.
The depth of the deception that is now underway can be understood by analyzing the significance of Obama’s “I love America” anti-communist foreign policy speech in Berlin, Germany, in view of the fact that the candidate and his media acolytes continue to conceal the central role that a Stalinist Communist by the name of Frank Marshall Davis played in his upbringing.
In Berlin, Obama almost sounded like Ronald Reagan, who became a strong anti-communist by fighting them in Hollywood. “And on the twenty-fourth of June, 1948, the Communists chose to blockade the western part of the city,” Obama noted. “They cut off food and supplies to more than two million Germans in an effort to extinguish the last flame of freedom in Berlin. The size of our forces was no match for the much larger Soviet Army. And yet retreat would have allowed Communism to march across Europe. Where the last war had ended, another World War could have easily begun. All that stood in the way was Berlin. And that’s when the airlift began—when the largest and most unlikely rescue in history brought food and hope to the people of this city.”
Obama sounded like a veteran anti-communist. But in his record has he ever shown hostility to communism? His remarks were completely at variance with what we know about him. Obama closely associated with communists for much of his life and career. We’ve heard about some of them, including communist terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. But one communist that few in the media want to talk about is Frank Marshall Davis, his mentor and father-figure. Davis actually wrote a poem in honor of the Soviet Red Army that Obama denounced in Berlin.
The “Red Army” poem goes beyond hoping for the communists to beat the Nazis in World War II and hails the Soviet revolution. It says:
“Show the marveling multitudes
Americans, British, all your allied brothers
How strong you are
How great you are
How your young tree of new unity
Planted twenty-five years ago
Bears today the golden fruit of victory!”
Obama refers to Davis as just “Frank” in his 1995 book, Dreams From My Father, but does note that he was a contemporary of black authors Richard Wright and Langston Hughes. What Obama doesn’t mention is that “Frank” stayed with the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) while Hughes and Wright broke from it. In fact, Davis was so extreme that he accused Wright of “treason” for exposing the CPUSA.
Davis’s influence over Obama is demonstrated by the fact that Obama left Davis in Hawaii, attended socialist conferences and picked Marxist professors as his friends in college, went to Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s church with his children, and then launched his political career in the home of Ayers and Dohrn.
Dohrn’s Bloody Hands
While Ayers gets most of the attention, it is Dohrn who is more important. She refuses to deny credible reports that she planted a bomb that killed a San Francisco policeman. The whole story is detailed in our last AIM Report. But is anybody in the media willing to ask Obama about her terrorist activities?
While Ayers and Dohrn and their comrades took instructions and advice from Hanoi and Havana and even Cuban and Soviet intelligence operatives, Davis was even more notorious.
He not only belonged to the CPUSA when it functioned as an apologist for Stalin, but Davis took the Stalinist line when Stalin made common cause with Hitler. The Germans at Obama’s speech might be interested in this aspect of the story. So might an American audience.
We already knew Davis was a Stalinist. NAACP member Edward Berman testified that “comrade Davis” tried to take over meetings of the organization in Hawaii “for the purpose of converting it into a front for the Stalinist line.”
But veteran anti-communist researcher and author Herbert Romerstein has now brought to our attention even more damaging information. He points out that Davis was one of the signers of a statement issued by the League of American Writers in June of 1941 during the Soviet-Nazi Pact.
It said in part, “We have warned that America must be defended not by involvement in this war, or by steps toward dictatorship, or by pursuing a course of imperialist expansion, but by preserving peace and expanding democracy on the economic, political and cultural levels. Today, we must ask whether the present policy of the administration and the program of big business are not leading us toward war and fascism in the name of resistance to war and fascism.”
In other words, as long as the Nazis and the Soviets were allies, Davis didn’t want the U.S. to go to war against the Nazis.
The statement asked a number of questions, including, “How best as writers can we resist the drive toward war and reaction which threatens our democratic culture?” The statement is printed on page 973 of Appendix IX of the Special Committee of Un-American Activities in 1944.
Romerstein comments that “This is clear support of the Soviet-Nazi Pact by Davis a short time before June 22, 1941, when Germany attacked the Soviet Union and the Communist Party line changed from peace to war.”
The point bears repeating: once the Soviets came under attack, the CPUSA line, which was adopted by party member Davis, turned into one supporting war on the Nazis.
This is the man that Obama’s white grandfather selected as the future candidate’s role model and mentor.
And yet in Berlin, Obama declared himself on the side of those who opposed Davis. “When you, the German people, tore down that wall—a wall that divided East and West; freedom and tyranny; fear and hope—walls came tumbling down around the world,” he said.
Davis was an apologist for that tyranny. He read his “poems” to a teenage Obama and advised him that his white grandmother had a right to fear black people and that black people had a reason to hate white people, which certainly helps explain why Obama would eventually end up in Wright’s church.
Has Obama truly broken with the forces of international communism, which had so much influence over him? If the media don’t ask the question, the increasing numbers of those who know about Davis, Wright, Ayers, Dohrn and other questionable Obama links and associations will see the media coverage for what the McCain campaign labels it—a love affair with Obama. In short, the pro-Obama media bias may backfire in a big way. There is evidence it already is.
Professor Paul Kengor, author of a book about Reagan’s anti-communism, examined the work that Accuracy in Media has done on the Obama-Davis relationship and concludes that the evidence must not be ignored. Yet liberals and “progressives” in the press and elsewhere ignore, distort or downplay it. Some reporters, like Dana Milbank of the Washington Post, have treated it as a laughing matter.
Giving Davis A Pass
Kengor wonders what the press would think “of, say, a John McCain mentor who had toed the line for Hitler? I can tell you that I, as a conservative Republican, would be pretty darned disappointed and would demand some answers. I would not turn it into a joke. And if McCain did not absolutely, convincingly repudiate it, I absolutely would not vote for him.”
But when it comes to Obama, Kengor notes that “The end result is that the bad guys on the communist far-left, such as the likes of Frank Marshall Davis, continue to get a pass long after they’ve departed this world, as will those who consider them mentors. These were extreme leftists who hurt liberalism—who hurt some of the dearest liberal causes. Davis, in death, is protected, his dirty work covered up, by a press who must now protect their anointed one.”
Obama, of course, is the anointed one, for the U.S. press as well as reporters for the Arab government-funded Al-Jazeera. Now we witness the latest phase of the love affair as Obama, with the help of the media, portrays himself as an anti-communist in the Reagan mode who truly understands the battle between Soviet tyranny and human freedom and came down on the right side. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The good news is that a Rasmussen poll finds that many people aren’t buying it. It found that 49 percent of voters think that reporters are trying to help Obama win in November.
A July 21 release from the firm declared that “The idea that reporters are trying to help Obama win in November has grown by five percentage points over the past month. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey, taken just before the new controversy involving the New York Times erupted, found that 49% of voters believe most reporters will try to help the Democrat with their coverage, up from 44% a month ago. Just 14% believe most reporters will try to help McCain win, little changed from 13% a month ago. Just one voter in four (24%) believes that most reporters will try to offer unbiased coverage.”
It also found that 45 percent say that most reporters would hide information if it hurt the candidate they wanted to win.
What could that information be? Could it have something to do with Frank Marshall Davis? Or Bernardine Dohrn? Are there more red skeletons in the closet?

DEAR FELLOW MEDIA WATCHDOG August-B 2008
IN A STRANGE DEVELOPMENT THAT MAY AFFECT BARACK OBAMA’S presidential run, supporters of Obama’s childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, are openly debating the nature and depth of Davis’s commitment to the Communist Party and his relationship with Obama. This unusual debate, which is taking place on Obama’s official website, raises the question once again as to why Obama has not been asked by the major media about this relationship. Davis was identified as a Communist Party member by various investigative committees and acknowledged his party membership in a private letter obtained by John Edgar Tidwell, the editor of books by Davis. Clearly, there is an effort underway to sanitize or play down the Obama-Davis relationship and try to intimidate the major media into not covering it. But it is unusual, to say the least, that some of this effort is occurring on the official Obama website. The reaction, which makes the controversy even more newsworthy and significant, suggests that the truth is seeping out through other means, mostly in the alternative media, and increasing the pressure at least on Obama’s supporters to deal with the matter.
UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE STILL FACING RESISTANCE TO TELLING THE DAVIS STORY FROM some “conservative” outlets, such as CNSNews.com. I provided Fred Lucas, a reporter for CNSNews.com, some documents in advance about Davis and the communist networks in Hawaii and Chicago that influenced Obama. He interviewed me at length more than two months ago and seemed anxious to tell the story. But nothing has appeared. I understand the story was killed by a top editor at the news service. I don’t know exactly who spiked it, but I suggest you send the enclosed postcard to CNSNews.com editor Terrence Jeffrey and inquire as to what happened to the Frank Marshall Davis story.
OFFICIAL CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS AND INVESTIGATIONS CONFIRM DAVIS’S HISTORY of membership and involvement with the CPUSA and its fronts, and his activities as a Stalinist. As late as 1956, Davis was before the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee and refusing to deny his CPUSA membership. He also refused to deny that he was a member of the faculty of the communist Abraham Lincoln School in Chicago. This is significant because, as researcher Herbert Romerstein notes, the Commission on Subversive Activities of the Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii reported on February 28, 1955, that “About November 1950, the communist party in Hawaii was reorganized on an underground basis…In the new organization, party groups were to consist of not more than three members. Groups were identified by numbers (1-10) rather than by names, as formerly.” Among those identified as having been members of the underground groups were Frank Marshall Davis and his wife Helen C. Davis.
WHAT’S ALSO INTERESTING ABOUT THE DAVIS APPEARANCE BEFORE THE SENATE IS THE fact that his lawyer was Harriet Bouslog, identified as a CPUSA member in the 1959 House Committee on Un-American Activities report, “Communist Legal Subversion: The Role of the Communist Lawyer.” Bouslog was identified as a CPUSA member by two witnesses, both former communists. Bouslog, it turns out, was the star of a 2004 public television program in Hawaii that completely ignored her documented CPUSA membership and described her as a ‘true advocate and defender of American democratic values.” It noted that her long-time friend and “mentor” was Harry Bridges, president of the International Longshoreman’s and Warehouseman’s Union (ILWU), but didn’t mention that Bridges was a secret CPUSA member.
ONE WHOSE NAME SHOWS UP IN THE CREDITS AS A CONTRIBUTOR OF SOME SORT IS CHRIS Conybeare, who also served as the producer/writer of a 1988 program about Davis that ignored his CPUSA membership and activities. The video was released by the Center for Labor Education & Research, University of Hawaii - West Oahu (CLEAR). So it is not surprising that Conybeare, who also functions as the “secretary general” of something called the World Association of Press Councils, has attached his name to a press release from the “Honolulu Media Council” denouncing Accuracy in Media and Bill Steigerwald of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for bringing to light the facts about Davis being a communist and Obama’s mentor. “We find that there is no substance to these claims,” this group of would-be censors declared. Ignoring all of the evidence against Davis, including his service on behalf of the CPUSA and its manipulation of black Americans for the communist and Stalinist cause, it announced that Davis was a true “advocate for civil rights in the US.” But there was one truthful bit of information in the release. Davis “had many friends, including Barack Obama’s grandfather,” it noted. BINGO. And that grandfather, Stanley Dunham, picked Davis as Obama’s mentor. Davis, who died in 1987, became Obama’s black mentor during the years 1975-1979 primarily because Obama’s black father had deserted the family and the young Obama needed a father-figure and role model. Dunham made a bad decision. It’s too bad Obama didn’t describe it as such in his book Dreams From My Father.
PLEASE DROP THE ENCLOSED POSTCARD TO THE HONOLULU MEDIA COUNCIL AND ASK that they discontinue their censorship campaign against Accuracy in Media and tell the truth about Frank Marshall Davis and the communist network in Hawaii.
WHICH BRINGS US BACK TO SQUARE ONE: WHEN WILL THE MEDIA ASK OBAMA ABOUT THE Obama/Davis relationship? And why did he conceal the identity of “Frank” in his 1995 book, Dreams From My Father? I think we are beginning to understand the reasons for this cover-up. Not only would the identification of “Frank” as Frank Marshall Davis expose communist influence on a young Obama, it might also expose those who collaborated with him and tried to whitewash his communist activities. Davis, it should be noted, was just one member of a communist network which also included secret CPUSA members Paul Robeson and labor leader Harry Bridges, who was so deep in CPUSA activities that Moscow accepted and designated him as a member of the CPUSA Central Committee. Davis was close friends with both of them.
SOME OF THE COMMENTS IN THESE “NOTES” HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED IN A MUCH LONGER “Special Report” that we posted on the AIM website. If you would like a printed copy, please send us the other postcard and we will provide that to you. The piece examines the accelerating attack on AIM by supporters of Frank Marshall Davis in Hawaii and elsewhere. We knew we would take heat for exposing the communist network that influenced the possible next president of the United States. The reason we undertook this assignment was because our major media have so utterly failed to subject Obama to the scrutiny he deserves. The pro-Obama media bias is overwhelming. We are not for or against him; we are in favor of educational information being provided in the interests of having an informed public. Times like these mean that we have to go back to our supporters and ask for your support so that we can continue to stand up to the assault. Can you help us at this time? Will you provide a strong vote of confidence in the work that we are doing?
I saw this and went right up the wall. Obama is becoming detrimental to my mental status and if that's not the same for you, then I'll take the insanity label and YOU keep Obama, ok?
Thanks to entire crew over at Larry Johnson's place. What would we do without your dedication to truth AND to this country?
Here...and have a barf bag ready. Consider yourself warned.

There was a big event last night, one that has not received a lot of press yet. No, I am not talking about the Saddleback Forum in which McCain schooled Obush (see, that’s what happens when Obush doesn’t have Hillary to follow and say, “Uh, what SHE said, except, uh, ah, uh…(Incoherent ramblings which continue for 10 minutes uninterrupted by the fawning Campbell Brown - heck, insert ANY MSM host there.)” Obama/Obush made a BUNCH of ridiculous statements. Here are just a very few, and then I’ll get to the big event: Here is just one:
Q. WHAT’S THE MOST SIGNIFICANT — LET ME ASK IT THIS WAY: WHAT’S THE MOST GUT WRENCHING DECISION YOU’VE EVER HAD TO MAKE AND HOW DID YOU PROCESS THAT, COME TO THAT DECISION?
A. WELL, YOU KNOW, I THINK THE OPPOSITION TO THE WAR IN IRAQ WAS AS TOUGH A DECISION THAT I’VE HAD TO MAKE NOT ONLY BECAUSE THERE WERE POLITICAL CONSEQUENCES BUT ALSO BECAUSE SADDAM HUSSEIN WAS A BAD PERSON AND THERE WAS NO DOUBT THAT HE MET AMERICA ILL.
BUT I WAS FIRMLY CONVINCED AT THE TIME THAT WE DID NOT HAVE STRONG EVIDENCE OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION AND THERE WERE A LOT OF QUESTIONS THAT AS I SPOKE TO EXPERTS KEPT ON COMING UP, DO WE KNOW HOW THE SHIITES AND THE SUNNIS AND THE KURDS ARE GOING TO GET ALONG IN A POST SADDAM SITUATION, WHAT’S OUR ASSESSMENT AS TO HOW THIS WILL AFFECT THE BATTLE AGAINST TERRORIST LIKE AL-QAEDA, HAVE WE FINISHED THE JOB IN AFGHANISTAN?
SO I AGONIZED OVER THAT AND I THINK QUESTION OF WAR AND PEACE GENERALLY ARE SO PROFOUND YOU KNOW WHEN YOU MEET THE TROOPS, THEY ARE 19, 20, 21-YEAR OLD KIDS AND YOU ARE PUTTING THEM INTO HARM’S WAY THERE IS A SOLEMN OBLIGATION THAT YOU DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO GET THAT DECISION RIGHT.
AND NOW AS THE WAR WENT FORWARD, VERY DIFFICULT ABOUT HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP FUNDING THE WAR IF YOU STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT IT’S NOT AMERICA’S NATIONAL INTEREST AT THE SAME TIME YOU DON’T WANT TO HAVE TROOPS WHO ARE OUT THERE WITHOUT THE EQUIPMENT THEY NEED. SO THAT ALL THOSE QUESTIONS SURROUNDING THE WAR HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME.
Say WHAT, OBush?? YOU did not have to make ANY decisions on the War in Iraq! YOU were not in the SENATE yet!! How in the WORLD does this guy get away with these blatant lies and mind-boggling (delusional) revisionist history??
Wait - here’s another goody. Oh, dear goddess, McCain is going to have a FIELD day with this statement come August 28th. I’ll show you why after the question and answer:
Q. ABOUT THE COMMON GOOD, THE COMMON GROUND AND COMMON GOOD. CAN YOU GIVE ME AN EXAMPLE OF A TIME YOU KNOW A LOT — I’VE SEEN A LOT OF GOOD LEGISLATIONS GETS KILLED BECAUSE OF PARTY LOYALTY. CAN YOU GIVE ME AN EXAMPLE OF WHERE YOU WIN(went) AGAINST PARTY LOYALTY AND MAYBE EVEN WIN (went) AGAINST YOUR OWN BEST INTEREST FOR THE GOOD OF AMERICA?
A. WELL, I’LL GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE THAT IN FACT I WORKED WITH JOHN MCCAIN ON AND THAT WAS THE ISSUE OF CAMPAIGN ETHICS REFORM AND FINANCE REFORM. THAT WASN’T PROBABLY IN MY INTEREST OR HIS FOR THAT MATTER BECAUSE THE TRUTH WAS BOTH DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS OR OF LIKE THE STATUS QUO AND I WAS NEW TO THE SENATE AND IT DIDN’T NECESSARILY ENGENDER A LOT OF POPULARITY WHEN I STARTED SAYING YOU KNOW WE’RE GOING TO ELIMINATE MEALS AND GIFTS FROM CORPORATE LOBBYISTS.
I REMEMBER ONE OF MY COLLEAGUES WHOSE NAME WILL BE UNMENTIONED WHO SAID, WELL, WHERE DO YOU EXPECT US TO EAT MCDONALD’S? AND I THOUGHT WELL, ACTUALLY, A LOT OF OUR CONSTITUENTS PROBABLY DO EAT AT MCDONALD’S SO THAT WOULDN’T BE SUCH A BAD THING. BUT I THINK THAT WE WERE ABLE TO GET A BILL PASSED THAT HASN’T MADE WASHINGTON PERFECT BUT AT LEAST IT MOVING THINGS FORWARD.
Ready? Here is a letter from Senator John McCain to Senator Barack Obama from FEBRUARY 06, 2006 issued as a Press Release:
The Honorable Barack Obama
United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator Obama:
I would like to apologize to you for assuming that your private assurances to me regarding your desire to cooperate in our efforts to negotiate bipartisan lobbying reform legislation were sincere. When you approached me and insisted that despite your leadership’s preference to use the issue to gain a political advantage in the 2006 elections, you were personally committed to achieving a result that would reflect credit on the entire Senate and offer the country a better example of political leadership, I concluded your professed concern for the institution and the public interest was genuine and admirable. Thank you for disabusing me of such notions with your letter to me dated February 2, 2006, which explained your decision to withdraw from our bipartisan discussions. I’m embarrassed to admit that after all these years in politics I failed to interpret your previous assurances as typical rhetorical gloss routinely used in politics to make self-interested partisan posturing appear more noble. Again, sorry for the confusion, but please be assured I won’t make the same mistake again.
As you know, the Majority Leader has asked Chairman Collins to hold hearings and mark up a bill for floor consideration in early March. I fully support such timely action and I am confident that, together with Senator Lieberman, the Committee on Governmental Affairs will report out a meaningful, bipartisan bill.
You commented in your letter about my “interest in creating a task force to further study” this issue, as if to suggest I support delaying the consideration of much-needed reforms rather than allowing the committees of jurisdiction to hold hearings on the matter. Nothing could be further from the truth. The timely findings of a bipartisan working group could be very helpful to the committee in formulating legislation that will be reported to the full Senate. Since you are new to the Senate, you may not be aware of the fact that I have always supported fully the regular committee and legislative process in the Senate, and routinely urge Committee Chairmen to hold hearings on important issues. In fact, I urged Senator Collins to schedule a hearing upon the Senate’s return in January.
Furthermore, I have consistently maintained that any lobbying reform proposal be bipartisan. The bill Senators Joe Lieberman and Bill Nelson and I have introduced is evidence of that commitment as is my insistence that members of both parties be included in meetings to develop the legislation that will ultimately be considered on the Senate floor. As I explained in a recent letter to Senator Reid, and have publicly said many times, the American people do not see this as just a Republican problem or just a Democratic problem. They see it as yet another run-of-the-mill Washington scandal, and they expect it will generate just another round of partisan gamesmanship and posturing. Senator Lieberman and I, and many other members of this body, hope to exceed the public’s low expectations. We view this as an opportunity to bring transparency and accountability to the Congress, and, most importantly, to show the public that both parties will work together to address our failings.
As I noted, I initially believed you shared that goal. But I understand how important the opportunity to lead your party’s effort to exploit this issue must seem to a freshman Senator, and I hold no hard feelings over your earlier disingenuousness. Again, I have been around long enough to appreciate that in politics the public interest isn’t always a priority for every one of us. Good luck to you, Senator.
Ahem. So it would seem that, once again, Obama was lying through his teeth. Like his “My mother was a poor single mother and I grew up without a daddy,” which is ALSO in this transcript regarding his “moral failings.”
Okay - as promised, here is the big event of the night in California. Ellen and Portia Get Married, Obama, on this night, also touched on same-sex marriage. When asked to define marriage, he told Warren, “It’s a union between a man and a woman.”
“For me as a Christian, it is a sacred union. God’s in the mix,” he said.
Obama added that he does support same-sex civil unions, saying, “I can afford those civil rights to others even if I don’t have … that view.”
Gosh, Obush - don’t tell Ellen and Portia that you think MARRIAGE is between a “man and a woman”! The night you made this pandering comment they did just that - so what are you saying to THEM?!?! And how freakin’ magnanimous that you are willing to “afford civil rights to others…” What a guy!! Gee - it must be hard to sleep at night with all that twisting and turning, flipping and flopping…
No wonder Obushits are becoming worried, seeing a tougher path than they thought…We could have told them. Wait - we HAVE been telling them!! After performances like last night’s, this should be another big ol’ WAKE UP CALL for the Superedelegates. This man is NOT COMPETENT to be the Democratic nominee, much less the PRESIDENT. *Ring, ring* - it’s the clue phone, SDs, and it’s for YOU!!!!

And so sick that I have to. Really.
And I'm so sick that Obama has bamboozled most except those who pay attention. Really.
Pelosi needs to go. Really.
Howard Dean needs to go. Really.
We need a complete House and Senate cleaning. Really.
We need to WAKE UP. Really.
I'm on vacation but will try to keep up. Really.
And once again, info for you from friends of mine. Ya, John Conyers. Really.
You may have heard, on Friday on Democracy Now, with Amy Goodman, Chairman John Conyers, in a discussion of David Suskind's book with evidence of Bush lies, made the following comment: (quoting)
REP. JOHN CONYERS: ... The 110th Congress isn't over. We're starting our work, and then we're doing it in a period where the Congress is in recess. I'm calling everybody back. "
Still, we MUST make these calls and send these messages.

And it wouldn't be a day for me unless I said at least once how sick Obama makes me..."and his little" bots too.
Tuesday, August 12, 2008
Wow, I sure hope folks are paying attention.
But just one off topic question...what is it the Obamabots are afraid of in calling for a role vote, state by state, at the Democratic National Convention....huh? Huh???? Where is the DNC located now, anyway? DC, you say? Better take a look around you, folks, cuz unless you've been paying attention, it ain't where you thought it was.
Brzezinski's Georgia Puppets
Attack Russia - WWIII In Sight
By Webster G. Tarpley*
- *9/11 Truth EXPERT
- WASHINGTON, DC -- Clearly playing the role of the aggressor, the NATO puppet regime of Mikhail Saakashvili has carried out a midnight sneak attack against Russian peacekeepers in the province of South Ossetia. Those peacekeepers have been there for 15 years under an agreement with Georgia. Saakashvili is a protégé and creature of Zbigniew Brzezinski, the foreign policy boss of the Barack Obama presidential campaign. As is explained in my book Obama- The Postmodern Coup: The Making of a Manchurian Candidate, Saakashvili was brought to power in 2003-2004 by a people power coup or CIA color revolution, directed by the Brzezinski clan and financed by George Soros, one of Obama's key financial backers. In a very real sense, it is the Obama campaign which has attacked Russia in South Ossetia.
- Responding to this provocation, Russia has struck back powerfully, hurling the Georgian military into full retreat. The 3000% increase in Georgian military spending on US military hardware since 2004 has not had the desired effect. But the Georgians have killed a score of Russian troops and shot down several aircraft. Russia is blockading the Georgian Black Sea coast and has already sunk a Georgian warship. The US regime, the butchers of Iraq, are now whining that the Russian response is "disproportionate," and that regime change is inadmissible! McCain responded by aggressive posturing against Russia scripted by Ian Brzezinski, as expected. At the Olympics, Bush had a heated exchange with Russian Prime Minister Putin over the Georgian aggression. Bush has dropped his plans to attack Iran and North Korea, and is now slavishly following Brzezinski's orders by concentrating on provoking Russian and China.
- Most interesting is the response of Brzezinski's other puppet, Obama. The Messiah first intoned that it was necessary to show restraint, and stop the armed conflict. He talked then to NSC Director Hadley, Saakashvili, Rice, and unspecified foreign policy advisers undoubtedly the Brzezinskis, Zbig and Mark. Notice Obama's failure to talk with a single Russian leader he failed to bring anybody together this time. Then Obama switched to a full warmonger line, identical to that of Bush: Obama now lied that Russia had invaded Georgian sovereignty and encroached on Russian sovereignty. Obama's spokesman, Ben Rhodes, added that Russia was responsible for the conflict. This goes to show that Obama is a ticket to World War III on the Brzezinski Plan, the crackpot design to break up Russia and China, securing another century for the Anglo-American world empire. Because Brzezinski's strategic insanity unfolds on a scale more vast than that of the neocons, Obama is indeed a far bigger warmonger than Bush.
- "In his later statement, Mr. Obama said, "What is clear is that Russia has invaded Georgia's sovereign - has encroached on Georgia's sovereignty, and it is very important for us to resolve this issue as quickly as possible,"' The New York Times reported. Obama is morally insane, since Georgia is the aggressor and Russia is acting in self-defense. Russian peacekeepers have been stationed in South Ossetia for about 15 years under a Russian- Georgian bilateral agreement which the provocateur Saakashvili has now chosen to violate. The pseudo-democratic Saakashvili has declared martial law and is proceeding to liquidate his internal opposition a favorite Saakashvili trick. In November 2007, when opposition to the NATO "free market" kleptocrats was getting out of hand after a large demonstration, Saakashvili also declared martial law, suppressing the media and rounding up his opponents. This is the man Obama is supporting.
- WARMONGER OBAMA BLAMES RUSSIA, MIMICS BUSH, CHENEY
- "Clearly over the course of the last 24 hours this crisis has escalated," said Ben Rhodes, an Obama foreign policy aide. "Clearly Russia bears the responsibility for that escalation." If this is the 3 AM phone call, Obama has failed miserably. Obama is running for the third term of the dotard warmonger Dick Cheney, who according to AP 'told Georgia's pro-American president that "Russian aggression must not go unanswered, and that its continuation would have serious consequences for its relations with the United States."'
- Predictably, the US controlled corporate media, NPR, PBS, the BBC, and the rest of the Anglo-American media cartel are attempting to cover up the salient fact that this war was started by Georgia. Georgia is unquestionably the aggressor, and a cowardly one at that. It is time to demand that not one soldier, not one penny, not one ship, not one plane be used by the US to support Saakashvili and his gang of kleptocrats and thugs. There must be no NATO membership for Georgia, nor for the similar gang of kleptocrats and thugs ensconced in Kiev, Ukraine, who have declared their full support for Georgia. Russian President Medvedev has pointed out that the Georgians have already killed about 2,000 Ossetians out of a total population of 70,000, and that Georgia is pursuing genocide and ethnic cleansing. These charges are well founded. In the face of imminent military defeat, Saakashvili will have a hard time holding onto power. Russia is unlikely to consider Georgia proper a privileged sanctuary for launching further attacks, and the Tiflis airport and other assets have already been bombed by Russia. Georgia's entire military infrastructure will now be subject to destruction. This lesson will hopefully not be lost on Brzezinski's Ukrainian puppets.
- South Ossetia can be compared to West Virginia. When Virginia seceded from the Union in 1861, West Virginia soon retaliated by seceding from Virginia. Similarly, when Georgia left the USSR in 1991, South Ossetia chose to remain with North Ossetia, which has been a part of Russia since about 1761. A second West Virginia exists in the form of Abkhazia, another province assigned by Stalin to the Georgian SSR which chose to stay de facto with the Russian Federation. Abkhazia fears a Georgian attack, and has declared a state of emergency, mobilizing its armed forces. Do not be surprised if Abkhazia pre-emptively seizes back some of its territory now held by Georgia.
- The attack is coherent with Brzezinski's desperate plan to save the collapsing US-UK regime of world domination by finding ways to smash Russia and China, the two serious power centers capable of checkmating Washington and London. As predicted, the epicenter of world confrontation is shifting rapidly away from the Persian Gulf. The method is classic Brzezinski: Zbig, working through the Principals' Committee (Gates, Rice, Paulson, Mullen, Hadley) which rules Washington behind the scenes while the lame ducks Bush and Cheney babble off into the sunset, is playing his Georgia puppet state against Russia, leading in all probability to regime change and possible guerrilla warfare in Georgia. This is exactly what Brzezinski did with Afghanistan in 1979, leading to the collapse of the Soviet Union. It is also what Brzezinski intends to do with Iran. The Georgia-Ossetia war is already the biggest international crisis since 2003, with implications that go far beyond anything involving Iraq or Iran, since we are here dealing with the specter of superpower thermonuclear confrontation a danger which is not immediately present in the Gulf.
- The Georgia-Ossetia war risks going out of control, and moving the planet towards World War III, in several ways:
- There are 2,000 Georgian soldiers serving for the US in Iraq. These forces have now been called home. The US is flying them back to Georgia in US military aircraft, a very unfriendly act towards Russia, since these troops will soon be fighting the Russians under present circumstances. What is Russia decided to shoot down these US planes? That would bring World War III much too close for comfort. NBS News reports that the State Department is talking to the Russian Foreign Ministry to avoid just such a highly dangerous mid-air confrontation. American national interest demands that these Georgians be told to get home on their own power, without the US Air Force.
- The Russian navy is now blockading the Black Sea coast of Georgia. What if the US or other NATO states now decide to send ships carrying humanitarian or military aid to Georgia? A large NATO fleet buildup in the eastern Mediterranean is reported. What if the US, the British, or the French try to break through the Russian naval blockade? If shooting starts, World War III could loom very quickly.
- The NATO puppet regime in Ukraine controls the bases for the Russian Black Sea fleet. These NATO provocateurs in Kiev are now saying that, since the Russian Black Sea fleet has left those ports to blockade Georgia, they will not be allowed to re-enter their Ukrainian home ports. If shooting starts, this could be a wider war. If the NATO Tusk regime in Poland, yet another gaggle of Brzezinski puppets, decides to come in on the side of the Ukrainians, then Warsaw could invoke the NATO alliance, and the US could soon be at war with Russia.
- Ukraine could also decide to support Georgia with ground troops. If the Ukrainians get into trouble, they will call on the Poles, and the Poles will call on NATO, also threatening to drag the US into a real war of catastrophic proportions.
- Letting Poland join NATO was supreme folly. We are fortunate that Georgia and Ukraine are not NATO members already. American national interest demands good relations with Russia. The United States must not be carried towards World War III as the tail of the Brzezinski- Obama kite. There must be no support for Saakashvili and his gang.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I do not consider it my job to do your research but I sure do love to point you in certain directions I readily admit.
So, start with this..."google" and "wiki" "Brzezinski" because you're certainly not going to find him on the front page on any of the corrupt media. He's a "shadow" kinda guy, if ya know what I mean *nudge nudge wink wink" and then put the two names together like I just did for you and see what you discover.
Yup...change you can hope for...or hope you can change for or whatever the hell Mr. Uh-bama wants and commands you to believe in.
I only wish it were as simple as that.

Our family has been through a lot. Some caused by nature, some caused by human weakness, and some – most recently – caused by the desire for sensationalism and profit without any regard for the human consequences. None of these has been easy. But we have stood with one another through them all. Although John believes he should stand alone and take the consequences of his action now, when the door closes behind him, he has his family waiting for him.
John made a terrible mistake in 2006. The fact that it is a mistake that many others have made before him did not make it any easier for me to hear when he told me what he had done. But he did tell me. And we began a long and painful process in 2006, a process oddly made somewhat easier with my diagnosis in March of 2007. This was our private matter, and I frankly wanted it to be private because as painful as it was I did not want to have to play it out on a public stage as well. Because of a recent string of hurtful and absurd lies in a tabloid publication, because of a picture falsely suggesting that John was spending time with a child it wrongly alleged he had fathered outside our marriage, our private matter could no longer be wholly private.
The pain of the long journey since 2006 was about to be renewed.
John has spoken in a long on-camera interview I hope you watch. Admitting one’s mistakes is a hard thing for anyone to do, and I am proud of the courage John showed by his honesty in the face of shame. The toll on our family of news helicopters over our house and reporters in our driveway is yet unknown. But now the truth is out, and the repair work that began in 2006 will continue. I ask that the public, who expressed concern about the harm John’s conduct has done to us, think also about the real harm that the present voyeurism does and give me and my family the privacy we need at this time.

It is not my intention to offer a defense here. Nor is it to dismiss the seriousness of a public lie...God knows that's all I've railed about here, deviating from my original intention about the kind of writing I stated as the premise of this blog. Priorities do have a way of changing one's perspective, mine at least, and, well, if you don't want to read this blog or that blog or any blog, you have a mouse with a click function presumably.
If you've followed my rants, you'll know that I was an avid John Edwards' supporter.
Having said that, acknowledging what may be a pre-existing bias, understand that today's skewering of his admitted extra-marital affair (while denying any paternity that may have resulted from that affair) is not something that exactly cheers me up. It IS interesting to note that none of it is news to those of us who obtain our information from valid sources that do NOT include mainstream media...let me repeat...do NOT include mainstream media and curious, at least to me, why it is that they haven't gobbled this delicious item up a ways back then. Oh, never mind...we had Paris...and missing white girls as an appetizer. Now we have a main course, full of all the elements that titillate folks like Wolf Blitzer, Jack Cafferty and the racist sexists over at MSNBC. (For god sakes, camera folk, do NOT shoot them below the waist!) Cuz this is a "big" one.
For those of you out there wanting to cast judgment on John Edwards, here's a few things for your consideration before you do, and remember, this is not a defense.
John Edwards and his wife, the extraordinary Lady Elizabeth, suffered the most unspeakable tragedy known to humankind. That tragedy is the loss of a child. Ever lose one yourself? For if not, and it is something I would wish on NO ONE, you better be pretty sure you've got nothing in your own closet before you point fingers and offer irrelevant commentary on the behaviors of one who has. You, yes, you, are in NO position to determine what goes on in the mind and emotions of parents who suffer such a loss. There's a reason people say to one who's lost a child, "I can't imagine it." That's because is IS unimaginable. You either survive it; or, you don't. And if you survive, everything about your view of life, meaning, love and spirituality is totally redefined - and not always in a healthy way though I maintain the legitimacy of the word "survivor" remains. So knock it off - it's a place you have no business entering when it comes to speculating the whys of how one in such a powerful, political position might indulge in something that if you're honest, most of us have thought of doing, hell, once or twice, right? I can see your nose from here so be careful in your answer.
Add to that, a diagnosis of cancer given to your lifemate. As if that isn't bad enough, how about the PTSD gift you received after watching your flesh and blood go into the ground or elsewhere? Oh ho, how the ante's upped now, huh? I say again, no defense here...I'm speaking of Understanding. Can you even begin to? Let me answer for you...unless you've been in these shoes, the answer is a resounding "NO."
Personally, I don't give a good damn about how many Republicans or Democrats have gotten themselves into this kind of cauldron bubbling with all those desires and urges that make us human. I really don't. Is power an issue? Of course. Celebrity? Of course it is. Politics, the kind practiced in DC, is not the lofty science respected by educational institutions of higher education..it's a goddam bloody contact sport, devoid of values, integrity and ethics. Don't believe me? Then please..stop reading right here. Anything goes, anything's ok, and everything is OK so long as the self and its agenda survives. Put aside the personal life and history of John Edwards and that alone explains it enough for us to be able to "move-on" as a people. And I'm not even going to touch the Clinton affair.
I guess there's a reason why the American people seem to forgive and forget when it comes to politicians who violate "family values." Wanna take a guess as to why? I'll leave that to you. Speaking for myself, I had the opportunity to meet Senator Edwards 1:1 as well as speak to him before he gave his speech moments before midnight this year while campaigning in Ohio. I CAN speak from an informed opinion in terms of how he penetrated my psyche and for whatever it's worth, I can tell you that he IS a good man...as good a man or woman that you or I consider ourselves to be (assuming that is true) but he's a man with many ghosts, unspeakable hurts, who has tried to find a way to survive. For the most part, he has done so via a life of public service. Perfectly? No. Are you?
So, while we pop those tops and settle in for a weekend of watching the world's new super power claim its place among those who have exploited human rights in the name of Freedom, let's cut John Edwards a little slack here. One way to do that is to simply switch channels. Don't feed this pig media and let its trough run dry. There are already a zillion reasons to do just that. Let's hope the Friday lost news cycle works in his favor as it does for all politicians finding themselves with their zippers down as well as the media whose zippers you'll never see.
To Elizabeth and your children, my heart goes out to you. God only knows the suffering you've learned to embrace which I hope serves you well during this difficult time.
To John - I understand you.
May the strength you know exists in you arise again and guide you through what, in the big scheme of things, turns out to be one more stone on the rocky road of life that you will one day look back upon and recognize Growth.
